In order to select a tour that is appropriate for your skill level and to better prepare yourself for the ride, using the concept common to river rafting, we have created a classification system for our trips. Please note we do not offer as standard routes Levels I and V, as they are too easy and too difficult, respectively, for the majority of our clientele.
Easy, short days of only a few hours with limited technical riding. Extensive motorcycling experience not necessary, but a couple years of riding required. Ideal for novice motorcycle travelers.
Leisurely but challenging days of 3 to 5 hours riding mostly back road sweepers, with some technical twisty roads; all paved. At least a couple years of sport touring experience recommended.
Challenging ride including 8 hour days and rarely less than 5 hours for several consecutive days, of sweeping back roads and plenty of twisty technical roads; but all paved. Some motorcycle travel experience recommended. Good fun for experienced riders.
Challenging ride of mostly 6 to 8 hour days for more than a week straight, mainly on sweeping back roads with twisty technical stretches, mostly paved but with upwards of a couple hours per day on unpaved roads. Fun but challenging, even for experienced riders.
Serious days of 8 hours or more of challenging back roads and some busy highway to cover long distances. Unpaved portions on both groomed and un-groomed roads of gravel, hard-packed and soft dirt, sand and mud, at varying elevations. Dangerous for inexperienced riders and even elements of risk for experienced, but extremely rewarding.
